The Saints Aren’t the Only One’s Marching In

Survivors (from left to right): Nick, Rochelle, Coach, and Ellis

Left 4 Dead 2, the sequel to Left 4 Dead takes place in New Orleans, if some didn’t realize by the title, which means five new campaigns and multiple chapters to go along with each. All of which you can try out for yourself when it releases on November 17th, 2009. In this game there are also new survivors, weapons, and special infected. Even though Valve has said a lot about the game, they have only mentioned one special infected, the Charger. The Charger defeats the purpose of hiding in a small room and camping out, like you could with a Tank. The Charger is compared to a bull. It will charge at you, if the Charger happens to make contact with a player. That player will fall to the ground and be completely paralyzed for a few seconds.

This game has a unique twist. In the game, the scenarios are monitored on how you perform throughout the chapters. For example, the weather, placement of walls/ dead ends, and lighting depends on how well your progression is throughout the game. This would make the game tougher/easier for the player.

This game is made a lot tougher then the original, Left 4 Dead. But Valve didn’t leave you empty handed. They upgraded some of the weapons. They added a new assault rifle that is more accurate than the previous one and a scoped assault rifle and plenty more. They also gave you plenty of melee weapons, a few of them are, bats, axes, and frying pans, but there are many more for you to discover throughout the adventure of the game.

The concept is mostly the same as the prequel, get to the safe house. Also, the last chapter of each campaign, you must defend the extraction point and attempt to survive as you await your rescue. This game could also be played in four player co-op. The rules to this game are simple. Attempt to survive…
